This review is from: Shure PG14/PG185 Wireless Lavalier System, H7 (Electronics) i have used this shure wireless mic at two differant projects already... the first was inside a conference room with flouresent lighting. no hiss or burps at all.... the second project is still on-going, it is an outdoor theater, the largest in texas, over 500 feet from West to East, with the sound booth 100 feet from the middle stage... the wireless reaches end to end without any distortion... i recommend SHURE mics always... great product.... When we received it, we thought it would be a better buy because it was an Emerson. We were correct! The clarity of the microphones are excellent. We use these for both our youth and adult choir. I wasn't expecting much because of the price but these mics have exceeded my expectations. My church is pretty small and these units are pretty powerful, but after working the kinks out with feedback, they've been greT. I love the iPhone integration and I love that it is so easy to plug into the sound board. I only wish that they could make it easier to run two of these systems at one time. Product Description

A complete system which includes the WL/T-PRO a belt-pack transmitter (WM-PRO) with electret condenser lavalier microphone (EX-503) and the WR-PRO receiver which comes with both shoe-mount and hook and loop fastener. All receivers and transmitters in the "PRO" Series are on the same 2 frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz).

• LEDs on transmitter and receiver to confirm system status. Earphone included to monitor sound that is being recorded. Receiver plugs into camera's external microphone jack. Both units use one 9V battery each. Includes WR-PRO receiver, WM-PRO belt-pack transmitter, and lavaliere electret condenser microphone.

As an aspiring video maker it was a product I should have bought a long time ago. Mine is the 9v-powered model, not the AA. But it has proven well-made, light and easy to use. There's something neat about micing people with a lavaliere unit. I find that they enjoy the attention of attaching the mic and the professional touch that it brings to the taping. Being able to range abut the room while taping and simultaneously retaining good audio is a remarkable experience. Another benefit of micing someone is that cuts way back on ambient noise. The din of voices surrounding your interview is a typical intrusion; using the lavaliere cuts out a great deal of the unwanted sonic information. It works as described, yet I found that it's sound needed post work if it was going to be presaentable. My standards are not unrealistic, yet I was disappointed when I first worked with this mic. It comes with a lavalier mic, and a handheld. Of the two, the handheld pickup better, and is more manageable. Both only record in mono, so you have to set your camera to place the signal on the two channels, or do so in postproduction. Still, if you wish to use a mic that is dependable, is inconspicuous, and has a small learning curve, this mic could serve your purposes. Didn't pick up a lot of background music or talking, and got a good deep sound from the person wearing it. Used it for a wedding and the other wireless systems used didn't interfear with it's opperation nor did the background clog up the mic.
